Author Guidelines

H0 Journal publishes peer-reviewed, open-access research across psychology and behavioral science, with a particular commitment to methodologically rigorous work — including null results, replication studies, registered reports, and methodological contributions.

Before submitting, please read the full Author Guidelines at neuralprosody.com. Submissions that do not conform to H0 Journal's formatting and disclosure requirements will be returned without review.

Key requirements:

  • Manuscripts must be submitted as Microsoft Word (.docx) files
  • The main manuscript file must be fully anonymized
  • A separate title page must be uploaded as a second file
  • Abstract: 350 words maximum; structured format required for empirical submissions
  • References: APA 7th edition throughout
  • All required disclosures must be included: AI use, conflicts of interest, funding, ethical approval, pre-registration (if applicable), and data availability

Article Processing Charge: $750 USD, invoiced upon acceptance. Discretionary waivers available — contact simon.rook@neuralprosody.com before submitting if funding is a barrier.

Submission Preparation Checklist

All submissions must meet the following requirements.

  • This manuscript has not been previously published and is not under review at another journal
  • The manuscript file is in Microsoft Word (.docx) format
  • The main manuscript file is fully anonymized — no author names, affiliations, or identifying information
  • A separate title page file has been prepared with author names, affiliations, and contact information
  • The abstract is 350 words or fewer and follows the required format for the submission type
  • All references are formatted in APA 7th edition
  • A Data Availability Statement is included in the manuscript
  • All required disclosures are included — AI use, conflicts of interest, funding, and ethical approval
  • I have read and agree to the H0 Journal Author Guidelines

Articles

Section default policy

Original Empirical Research

Original quantitative, qualitative, or mixed-methods studies reporting primary data collection and analysis. Manuscripts must include all required disclosures and a data availability statement.

Registered Reports

Pre-registered study protocols reviewed and provisionally accepted prior to data collection (Stage 1), and completed manuscripts following data collection (Stage 2). Authors must contact the editorial office before submitting a Stage 1 protocol.

Replication Studies

Direct or conceptual replications of previously published findings. Full methodology disclosure is required. Both successful and failed replications are welcomed.

Systematic Reviews and Meta-Analyses

Comprehensive syntheses of existing literature conducted in accordance with PRISMA or equivalent reporting standards. Authors must register their review protocol prior to data extraction and provide the registration URL.

Methodological and Statistical Papers

Contributions to research design, measurement, statistical practice, or open science methodology. Unstructured abstract permitted. No data availability statement required unless the paper includes empirical analysis.
